Revival of contemporary circus repertoire
Leaving a lasting impression: the new challenge of the contemporary circus.
While artistic disciplines such as theatre, dance, music and opera rely on a living, established repertoire, the contemporary circus, barely forty years old, faces a crucial challenge. How do you inscribe your work in time while making your mark?
It’s a major step for this rapidly evolving art form. To support companies wishing to stage their own creations or those of other artists, four BIAC (Biennale Internationale des Arts du Cirque) partners have joined forces to launch a specific call for projects, designed to encourage and facilitate these pioneering initiatives.
The scheme, backed by Archaos – Pôle National Cirque, Les Elancées – festival des arts du geste, the City of Vitrolles and Le Pôle Arts en circulation in Revest-les-Eaux, will offer selected artistic projects a full range of support: co-production support, residency space and assistance with distribution. A unique opportunity to perpetuate the circus heritage.
Application from 13 June to 26 August 2025 (midnight)
Two types of revivals are covered by the call for projects
→ If the company revives a work from its own repertoire
→ If the company revives a work from another company’s repertoire
