Tanssille ry ja Tanssin talo tarjoavat tanssitaiteen ammattilaisille residenssin tammikuussa 2026. Paikkana on Tanssin talon harjoitusstudio Kaapelitehtaalla Helsingissä. Työskentelyaika studiossa jakaantuu kahdelle ryhmälle ja/tai taiteilijalle.
Tilaresidenssin tarkoituksena on tukea tanssin ammattilaiskenttää. Se tarjoaa maksuttoman harjoitustilan vähintään kahdelle tanssitaiteilijalle tai tanssin ammattilaisryhmälle tammikuussa 2026. Residenssin kokonaiskesto on 5 päivää maanantaista perjantaihin aikavälillä 19.1.-23.1.2026. Taiteilijat työskentelevät jakaen saliajan puoliksi. Työskentelyn aikavaihtoehdot ovat 1) klo 10.00-15.00 ja 2) klo 15.15-20.15.
Residenssissä työskentelystä maksetaan palkkaa 225€ / hlö, enintään kolmelle hlölle per työryhmä. Residenssi on suunnattu tanssitaiteilijoille. Työryhmässä voi olla myös muun alan taiteilijoita tai enemmän kuin kolme henkilöä, mutta palkka maksetaan vain max. kolmelle tanssitaiteilijalle. Kahden viimeisen vuoden aikana Tanssille ry:n palkallisessa residenssissä olleet eivät voi saada residenssipalkkaa, mutta voivat muuten olla työryhmässä.
Hakijan tulee olla Tanssille ry:n jäsen ja työryhmissä vähintään kahden henkilön on oltava jäseniä. Valintakriteereinä on ammattimaisuus, tilan tarve ja työskentelyidea. Residenssivalinnat tehdään arpomalla, kriteerien täyttävien hakemusten kesken. Residenssin lopuksi taiteilijoita pyydetään kirjoittamaan lyhyt raportti työskentelystä.
Työskentelyidea voi olla esimerkiksi hahmotteilla olevan idean kehittelyä, valmiimman teoksen harjoittelua, oman taiteellisen ajattelun kehittelyä tms. Eri vaiheissa olevilla ideoilla kannustetaan hakemaan mukaan.
Residenssiin haetaan avoimella hakemuksella. Yhteyshenkilön tulee olla Tanssille ry:n jäsen. Kerro hakemuksessasi vapaamuotoisesti työskentelyideastasi sekä mahdollisesta työryhmästä. Tanssille ry and Dance House Helsinki are offering a residency for dance professionals in January 2026 in the rehearsal studio of Dance House Helsinki at Cable Factory. Working time in the studio will be divided between at least two groups and/or artists.
The purpose of the residency is to support the professional dance field. It will provide free rehearsal space for at least two dance artists or professional dance groups in January 2026. The total duration of the residency will be 5 days from Monday to Friday from 19th to 23th January 2026. Artists will work on a half-time basis. The time options are 1) 10.00-15.00 and 2) 15.15-20.15.
The salary for working at the residency is €225 per person, for a maximum of three people per working group. The residency is intended for dance artists. The working group may include artists from other fields, but only max. three dance artists will be paid. Those who have been in Tanssille ry’s paid residency for the past two years are not eligible for residency salary, but may otherwise be part of the working group.
Applicant must be a member of Tanssille ry and at least two persons in the working groups must be a member. The selection criteria are professionalism, need for space and working idea. Residency selections will be made by lottery, among applications that meet the criteria. At the end of the residency, artists will be asked to write a short report on their work.
The working idea can be, for example, developing an idea on the making, the rehearsal of a more finished work, development of one’s own artistic thinking, etc. You are encouraged to apply with ideas at different stages.
You can apply for the residency with a free-format application. In your application, please describe your working idea and possible working group freely.
