Generation NEXT 12.5-18.6.2026
As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, Susanna Leinonen Company invites emerging choreographers to present their artistic visions at Generation NEXT – an event dedicated to highlighting new voices and future makers in the field of contemporary dance.
We are looking for bold, original short works from choreographers based in Finland working across all dance styles and movement-based art forms.
What we are looking for
– Solo, duet, or group choreographies with 1-4 performers
– Duration 10-15 minutes
– The work must be either a new creation or a reworked version of a piece originally created no later than January 2025
– The choreographer must be based in Finland
– No age limit
What we offer
Selected choreographers will receive:
– The opportunity to present their work on the Konepaja stage in November 2026. Performance dates: 16.11. and 17.11.2026.
– Performance fees for choreographers and dancers
– Visibility through Susanna Leinonen Company’s channels
– Two hours of mentoring with choreographer Susanna Leinonen
– A technically simple production setup with a selection of lighting options
Application requirements
Applications will be evaluated based on submitted video material.
Please note:
- Work-in-progress videos will not be considered
- Submit your video in horizontal format
- No editing
- No close-up shots
- Include complete music information in the application form (artist/composer and recording details)
