The Eastern European contemporary circus festival CYRKULACJE presents mainly artists from Central and Eastern Europe. An exciting melting pot of Eastern and Western influences, tradition and modernity.

The circus festival CYRKULACJE – Circulation – in Poland’s Lublin presents artists in a variety of circus disciplines, full-length shows, premieres, and a competition. The festival started September 6th and will go on until October 6th. The last weekend of September is dedicated to competition.

In the competition, artists from/based in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Finland, Ukraine, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Belarus are invited to present their disciplines in unique acts. Each act has a chance to win one of three main jury awards and special prizes, including the Best Trick Prize, the Media Prize – and of course – especially precious for every artist – the Audience Prize.

The jury consists of international circus presenters from around the world.

Three circus artists originally from Finland are finalists in the competition this weekend 26–29 September:

Aapo Honkanen‘s discipline is cyr wheel. He started his circus adventure at the age of seven, and this year he graduated from ESAC in Brussels.

Santeri trained handstand for a year and a half at ESAC in Brussels but then fell in love with pole dancing which is now his discipline in the competition.

Anne Marjamäki is 21 years old and has just graduated from the ESAC circus school in Brussels. Her discipline is handstand.
