Performing HEL

With performances, demos and production pitches, Performing HEL showcases the finest circus, dance and theatre from Finland. The event takes place every two years in August/September – at the same time with the Helsinki Festival.

Performing HEL is a friendly, “pocket sized” showcase event aimed for international and Finnish presenters of a variety of performing arts. Next time Performing HEL wil take place in Helsinki on Aug 31 – Sep 3, 2023. Established in 2018, the upcoming edition of the showcase will be the fourth one taking place in Helsinki and online.

At the end of 2021, Performing HEL received an important financial support from the Ministry of Education and Culture in Finland, helping to develop the digitalization of performing arts. With this grant of EUR 300,000, Performing HEL looks to the future. The main goal of the project is to increase the international visibility of Finnish performing arts, to develop its international distribution, and to increase the opportunities for artists. The funding comes from the European Union economic recovery package, Next Generation EU.
