Jussi “Focus” Sirviö has worked with street dance for 30 years and inspired new generations of breakers. Sirviö runs a dance school in Helsinki, together with his award-winning dance crew.
Jussi “Focus” Sirviö, a renowned figure in Finnish street dance and breaking, was recently honored with The Culture Award in New York and inducted into the Breaking Hall of Fame. The event, held for the fourth time, was organized by the New York State Assembly.
Sirviö, who has been a key influence on Finnish street dance culture for three decades, was recognized for his dedication to the art form and for inspiring new generations of breakers.
Sirviö began breaking in the mid-1990s in his hometown Muurame in central Finland. Over his career, he has won dozens of international competitions and served as a judge at many events. From 2020 to 2024, he was the head coach of Finland’s national breaking team.
Sirviö’s dance crew, Flow Mo Crew, has won the Finnish breaking championship six times. In 2010, the crew also founded the Saiffa Dance School, offering training in a wide variety of street dance styles. Additionally, Sirviö has launched the B-boy & B-girl Dojo, an online platform providing dance courses and resources on hip-hop culture.
