I Address You is a deeply personal and socially conscious solo performance created by Carl Knif for himself. Drawing from Knif’s own experiences, the performance weaves together memories and past events with contemporary phenomena, examining self-esteem, inviolability, and the capacity for empathy under strain.
“I address you” is a part of this years Ostrobothnia dances 2025 event.
The piece aims to shed light on the unwritten history of the homosexual minority. How do silenced experiences affect us? In what ways are traumas passed from one generation to the next? And how does one construct an identity in an environment lacking relatable role models?
A yearning for genuine encounters and meaningful conversations fuels this intense and powerful dance. I Address You invites dialogue and defends the vision of a better world—it seeks to engage with life, to come closer to you.
