The traditional Kukkofestival will be held for the first time on August 29–31, 2025, at the Salpaus Circus Center in Lahti. In addition to student performances, the stage will also feature circus professionals.
The Kukkofestival was first organized over 10 years ago, and thanks to its great popularity, it became an annual spring tradition. However, we have now decided to move the festival to autumn so that even more people will have the chance to enjoy it.
The goal of the Kukkofestival is to introduce people to the enchanting world of circus and to bring together different generations within the circus community. Over three circus-filled days, not only future professionals but also circus enthusiasts and working circus artists will take the stage.
The festival will showcase interdisciplinary circus art and offer breathtaking, never-before-seen moments. The diverse program has something for every family member. Audiences can look forward to performances by Salpaus Circus Education’s own circus students, professional guest artists, as well as visiting dance and theater acts. The Kukkofestival will also host an Open Stage, where talented people from various fields will have the opportunity to perform on the festival stage themselves.
