UrbanApa brings an abundance of contemporary art to Stoa – for free!
In 2025, UrbanApa will return to Stoa for the UrbanApa x Stoa festival, which will be held during 26–30 August. The event brings an abundance of urban contemporary art to the Cultural Centre, and for five days, a group of diverse artists – all professionals in performance art, music, and visual arts – and other cultural influencers will take over Stoa and create surprising, interdisciplinary and playful works to be enjoyed by anyone.
The thematic landscape of this year’s festival is joy & resistance. What brings you hope and joy right now? How can joy and resistance coexist? How to start imagining new ways of working, creating and collaborating that centralize joy in ways that are radical, pleasurable, sustainable, and collective? How are you joyously resisting oppressive structures? And can joy and resistance be many things at once – communal, pleasurable, light, subversive? Join us to find out!
