Kaisa Nieminen is a choreographer-dancer based in Helsinki, Finland. Nieminen is interested in the experiential nature of the dancing body; the emotionality, sexuality and the way we connect to ourselves, others and to the societal structures through dancing. The politics and poetics of the dancing body.

Currently Kaisa is working with a new choreographic solo piece, Wilting before blooming, sorry I’m late, premiering in Finland 27.11.2025. The piece deals with the millenial body’s experientiality in relation to power structures; misogyny, rape-culture, comphet-structures, tackling the questions of consent, control and on the other hand, queerness and places of pleasure and desire. Together with the working group they have dived into the performativity and experientiality of the body and the structures surrounding it.

She won the Future of the Culture award at Finnish Culture Gala 2023 together with her choreographic working partner Marika Peura from the choreographic work, down below things shudder (2023).
