The Spanish Wonderground Company has created a performance in collaboration with a Finnish working group, which will premiere at the Stoa Theatre Hall in Helsinki in February 2026. The group's artistic directors, Roser Tutusaus and Tom Weksler, explore the connection between the natural, the artificial, and the cultural in their artistic work.
Shadows of the Mind is a poetic, multi-layered work for two dancers, drawing on the movement language of Movement Archery, created jointly by Tutusaus and Weksler. The practice combines martial arts, physical theater, butoh, improvisation, partnering, meditation, and acrobatics, among other things.
In a lunar mystical territory, we witness an intimate encounter. An absent
being transforms into a body, a shadow devours its owner.
Shadows of the Mind tells the story of a human and their shadow…
or maybe the story of a shadow and their human.
Just like the back of the lighthouse or the dark side of the
moon, shadows are the invisible presence. The part
we can’t or don’t want to see, the hidden essence.

The work is primarily intended for adults but does not contain anything that could be harmful to younger viewers (recommended age limit: 8 years and older).
