Katveessa contemporary dance festival is a Kymenlaakso-based look at the changing field of contemporary dance. The festival will be held for the first time at the Kotka City Theatre on 17-18 April 2026 and will present both local and national artists to the region's audiences.
The two-day festival is organized in collaboration with Kymenlaakso Dance Association, Kotka City Cultural and Event Services and Kotka City Theatre. The program includes various contemporary dance and contemporary circus performances, artist meetings, and Friday’s program ends with a festival club organized at the theater.
During the festival, the theater will also organize a separate school performance for local middle school and high school students on Friday. Students will be invited to the performance separately through their schools.

There are two different tickets for Friday’s evening performances, KOHTA and KAIKU, which include a different performance lineup. Choose a ticket for one of the two different local solo works of your choice. Both tickets include the same guest performance by the Kinetic Orchestra at 7 p.m.

Saturday’s festival day will feature performances by professional artists from the Southeast Finland region.
