"Trad. and snacks" is a relaxed event where you can sit down together to experience and chew on the performances about tradition and its meanings. The event offers three Finnish premieres by the makers of Finnish and Karelian folk dance and flamenco.
The event celebrates the diversity of living tradition and embraces its richness. During the intermission, you can chew on themed brain nuts and enjoy the café’s catering. The event is planned and implemented by dance artists Riina Hosio and Marja Rautakorpi.
The first Pertsaa & pikkupurtavaa event offers three Finnish premieres by the makers of Finnish and Karelian folk dance and flamenco. The event begins with folk dancer Riina Hosio’s dance lecture Tradition = True Love. After that, folk dancer Mitja Pilke’s solo work One Man’s Dances will be performed, with Tuomas Salopuro as a guest artist. After the intermission, the event will end with an experimental flamenco piece RAILO by flamenco dancer Marja Rautakorpi and percussionist Pauliina Kauppila. Riikka Karjalainen is responsible for the lighting design and Juho Suominen for the sound technology.
