A shaking contemporary dance solo about militarism and gender.
Wounding the World is a solo dance piece by Kuhmalahti-born Leevi Rauhalahti, which explores gender, power and violence through movement. The piece constructs powerful and changing images of the body on stage, searching for its place in the world, free from established roles and norms.
The piece explores phallocentrism through movement from the perspective of a non-binary conscientious objector, and how the patriarchal world needs violence to rule.
The piece is Rauhalahti’s suggestion to everyone to challenge preconceived notions of gender and violence.
