Autumn 2026: Upcoming premieres in Finland

Be sure to mark these autumn premieres and returning performances on your calendar. Dance House Helsinki and the City Theatre will host a range of interesting productions — from large-scale to more intimate — by both emerging and established choreographers. In addition, the young circus company Arctic Ensemble is premiering a new show in its big-top tent.

Tiia Kasurinen: Birds of Paradise  Premiere: August 6, 2026 (Performances until August 19) at Helsinki City Theatre, Studio Pasila

Sonya Lindfors for Tero Saarinen Company: Wild Is the Wind Premiere: September 22, 2026 (Performances until September 26) at Dance House Helsinki (Tanssin talo), presented as part of the Wild Is the Wind triple bill.

Tero Saarinen Company: Garden (chor. Tero Saarinen) A new duet that premiered in Italy in April. Performances on September 22–26, 2026 at Dance House Helsinki, as part of the Wild Is the Wind triple bill.

Tero Saarinen Company: Room 7 A solo for Tero Saarinen choreographed by Carolyn Carlson (2024). Performances on September 22–26, 2026 at Dance House Helsinki, as part of the Wild Is the Wind triple bill.

Johanna Nuutinen +Collaborators: Élixir de Mer A return of the praised work (2025) exploring the sense of smell and embodied memories through refined movement. Performances: September 30 – October 3, 2026 at Dance House Helsinki

Elina Pirinen: Ghosts of Rosegarden Premiere: October 6, 2026 (Performances until October 10) at Dance House Helsinki. An interdisciplinary large-scale production for eight dancers and five musicians from the Avanti Chamber Orchestra.

Circus

Arctic Ensemble: Karkelot premieres in August, 2026.

Arctic Ensemble: Karkelot Premiere: August 25, 2026 (Performances until October 3) at the ensemble’s own circus tent in Espoo (Helsinki Metropolitan area). High-level circus technique and fresh storytelling from a young, energetic Finnish troupe.
