USKO-FAITH is a multidisciplinary art ensemble that includes a glass art exhibition and an immersive stage performance. Why do people believe?
Willman Dance Company, together with the Governing Body of Suomenlinna, Ballet Finland, Ehrensvärd Society and Lasistudio Hytti produces a site-specific multidisciplinary art ensemble USKO-FAITH in Suomenlinna’s Levyhalli in August 2026. The ensemble includes a free glass art exhibition during the day and an immersive USKO-FAITH performance in the evenings.
The theme of the multidisciplinary art ensemble is faith, in all its contradictions. But why do people believe? Faith is treated with curious observations, critical questioning and consideration of different forms of faith.
The USKO-FAITH performance looks at faith as an event in the human mind. The audience moves from scene to scene in a huge performance space together with the performers. The performance is participatory, but the freedom for physical participation is left to the viewer.
The USKO-FAITH glass art exhibition deals with the same theme but through glass art. The exhibition was designed and implemented by glass artists and artisans Anna Shroderus and Esko Kurvinen, who works at Suomenlinna.
