Glims & Gloms: Pennyless Dreamer
The character in Pennyless Dreamer is a poor vagrant who wanders without a destination, with all his belongings in his shoulder bag. He and his musician friend try to earn a few coins by singing and dancing to survive the day.
The Penniless Dreamer takes the viewer on a journey through the melodies of memories, to the Sahara Desert, and to fly with spread wings over the Atlantic, using comic expression, dance, song, and skillful musicianship.
Willman Dance Company: Words with Isadora
Dance artist Jonna Aaltonen celebrates her 30th year of career with the solo work Words with Isadora. The work is choreographed and directed by long-time collaborator Marjaterttu Willman.
The work focuses on the artist’s journey of expression over a long career. The 2020s performing artist reflects on the importance of movement and freedom of expression in contemporary dance, seeking connections to the ideas of Isadora Duncan, a dance innovator from the early 20th century. What would Duncan say about today’s trends? How does aging affect artistry?

TARGET Helsinki’s FRAMED is an embodiment of a painting in which the image becomes flesh and the atmosphere turns physical. FRAMED spills out and strives against. Out of the limited. FRAMED is also a tribute to Siiri Haarla’s artistic work. It’s about inspiration and dialogue between artforms and artists.
TARGET Helsinki’s The Yellow Wallpaper is a bodily journey into the chaos of the mind. A duet for dancer and camera born of a moment. Interpreted by a musician and inspired by a 19th-century story.
TARGET Helsinki’s Equals emphasizes the importance of empathy and the power of walking alongside.
Sivuun Ensemble’s Kylmäketju is a dance film about intergenerational silence. Choreographer Ninni Perko draws the film’s material from subconscious, bodily experience and the history of her family. The film comments on the history of the use of power through a woman’s body.
