Agit-Cirk and Race Horse Company at the Edinburgh Fringe in August

RHC / Kalle Lehto: Chevalier

Two Finnish contemporary circus performances will be featured this year in the Edinburgh Fringe event. The program includes Race Horse Company’s Chevalier and Makeshift’s & Agit-Cirk’s Insomniac’s Fable.

Kalle Lehto’s solo piece, Chevalier, will be showcased 22 times in August, at Assembly George Square Studios One. The piece is an irresistibly charming homage to the magnificent horses of circus and the silent movie era.

Insomniac’s Fable, on the other hand, combines juggling and ballet in a love story, and it will be presented at Summerhall in the heart of Edinburgh from 2nd to 27th August (excluding performances on 14th and 21st August). Insomniac’s Fable premiered in 2017 and is a production by Makeshift with the support of Agit-Cirk.

Both performances were selected to Edinburgh Fringe as part of From Start to Finnish project. Building on the phenomenal interest in performing arts from Finland and the Nordic region, From Start to Finnish is an international showcase project that taps into Finland’s astonishing performing arts tradition by presenting successful Finnish artists and works at Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
