An international street & club dance event in Helsinki. Hiphop battle, audition & instant creation, multiple performances, a party, a panel discussion, and workshops.

Enter the Tsone is a street and club dance event that combines traditional performance formats of the street and club dances with something completely new.
Part of the program is a typical format for the street and club dance cultures: a battle where some of Finland’s best hiphop dancers meet each other in a tournament. The impressive and entertaining concept leans on the dancers’ virtuosity, musicality, and strong personal style.
On top of that, for the first time ever, cyphers become and audition: the participants have the chance to be chosen to perform in a new piece choreographed by Tatiana Desardouin. The piece will be rehearsed and performed later during the same event. We are looking for dancers with strong technical skills, a unique style and stage presence. Anything can happen!

At the end of the event, everyone can join the dance floor. Deejays suinner + trabelsi combine sounds from amapiano and afro house to hip-hop, R&B, UK beats, and SWANA sounds, their sets fuse genres that move the body and soul. We dance, we sway, we close our eyes, and we surrender to the music—each track is a personal experience that connects us all.

The event’s international artists Sophie May and Tatiana Desardouin discuss their work as dancers and choreographers, the intersections of choreography and freestyle, their perspectives on being a woman within hiphop culture, and how we can make street & club dance spaces more inclusive.
