Janina Rajakangas Flood

Flood (Tulva in Finnish) is a contemporary dance performance featuring professional dancers and local dance enthusiasts. The piece invites us to reflect on what brings us together and what we let flow past us.

Internationally acclaimed choreographer Janina Rajakangas has collaborated with Dance Theater Minimi to create a piece in which a group of professional and amateur dancers pauses to reflect on the flood of images from the news and social media.

Dozens of postures are remembered, practiced, and transformed into a rhythmic choreography. The performers dance, run, and sing as the flood of images flows through their bodies. The stream of images repeats and rebuilds itself continuously, inviting reflection on how, and around what, we humans gather.

Flood premiered in Kuopio on February 12, 2026. This highly popular production will be performed in Kuopio at the Maria Stage of the Kuopio City Theater on November 11 and November 19, 2026! Read more and buy tickets!
