Mental Airport festival Grus Grus Theatre: Ihmisraunio

In the ruins of a well-known museum in Turku, the Crime-inspired Tour Guide is preparing to lead their group. The ruins are filled with doors, some familiar and some unnoticed by inexperienced eyes before. Through them, one embarks on a detective journey into the shadowy alleys of the human mind, into the mind of a criminal. Can one only peek through the door a little?

Ihmisraunio is a walking tour created by Turku-based theater artist Petri Tuominen, set in the ruins layer of the Aboa Vetus Ars Nova museum. Robert Louis Stevenson’s “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” tells the tale of the duality of the human mind: the struggle between good and evil within the human psyche. Experience an untrue crime walk inspired by the classic tale, led by the Spiritual Airlines Tour Guide. What was the case of Korpinen and Hyde that shook Turku in the 21st century?

Ihmisraunio premiered last fall on September 16, 2023, and is now part of Grus Grus Theatre’s Mental Airport program. The performance venue during festivals is Åboa Vetus Ars Nova, located at Itäinen Rantakatu 4-6, 20700 Turku. The performance involves walking through the ruins layer of Aboa Vetus.
