Helsinki Circus Festival is a new four-day event that offers an overview of the diverse and changing field of contemporary Finnish circus. The community festival brings together different forms of circus art.
Helsinki Circus Festival, taking place for the first time in September 2026, is a full-on celebration of Finnish circus! The festival offers a comprehensive overview of the diverse and rich Finnish contemporary circus. Audience will experience 13 circus works ranging from street circus and performance art to tent circus, comedy, contemporary circus, new magic and shows for children.
At the heart of this artist-driven festival is a Finnish circus community. The event is organised by Pro Sirkus ry, founded by Finnish contemporary circus groups and circus artists, together with Cirko – New Circus Center and the cultural centers Caisa and Stoa. In addition to these venues, the circus takes place in a big top tent in the middle of Suvilahti field and in the surrounding street areas.
Ticket sales for the event will open on June 10th. Tickets are on sale on the websites of Helsinki Circus Festival and the festival’s venues.
Welcome to the Helsinki Circus Festival to fall in love with the circus’s untamed diversity, profound playfulness and boundary-breaking surprises!
