Hesperidien puutarhasta pohjoiseen (=North of the Garden of the Hesperides) is a visually enchanting piece that combines contemporary dance and circus arts. The performers bring to life their experiences of a plant habitat shaped by humans.
How does a spider orchid live? What kind of sense of time does the silk floss tree’s trunk have? What kind of movement is evoked by the surface of a whisk fern?
What if in the middle of the eco-crisis we stop to experience the diversity and timelessness of the flora? In the piece, the bodily empathy towards plants builds a bridge between man and nature, creating moments where the viewer can sense the silent world of plants. Come and experience how plants bring the fleshliness to life!
The piece is a unique initiation from the professional freelance dance field in Pirkanmaa and it offers local freelance artists a space to shine.
