Contemporary circus piece for two slack rope dancers, four A-frames and five ropes. It is a poetic choreography about encounter, touch and vulnerability.
Imagine a snowflake gently flying onto your hand. From the warmth of the
touch it melts and transforms.
I Had the Snowflakes in My Hand is a contemporary circus piece for two slack rope dancers, four A-frames and five ropes. It is a poetic choreography about encounter, touch and vulnerability. Contact or integrity? Can they change the world, worlds?
The impulse for the creation came from slack rope dancers Fanni Silmunen and Saila Jantunen. They challenge the customary image of slack rope as a solo discipline in traditional circus. On stage they present duo slack rope techniques never seen before in Finland. Touch plays an essential role in maintaining balance when dancing on the slack rope as duo.
Existence is temporary, like a snowflake on your hand.
