Kinetic Orchestra Like There’s No Tomorrow

Kinetic Orchestra's contemporary dance piece is a visual triumph inspired by Philippe Halsman's photographic work Dali Atomicus (1948).

Like There’s No Tomorrow consists of overlapping scenes culminating over and over again in a unique final moment. In the spirit of surrealism, the work’s movement, music and the visual world burst with distinctive, imaginative and freely malleable elements that somewhat spontaneously collide together, seeking catharsis.

As the performance progresses, the dancers, things, and objects on the stage reorganise and transform continuously, creating surreal sculptures and landscapes. This dense dance piece repetitively accelerates towards its end, offering dreamlike views in which the concept of time dissolves and tomorrow becomes forgotten.

Kinetic Orchestra is known for its physical and skilful combining of different dance techniques, acrobatic partnering and martial arts. This also shines through in Like There’s No Tomorrow, with the dancers pausing in seemingly impossible moments, flying and catching each other at an almost relentless pace.
