Blind Gut Company Maannos

Contemporary circus performance about forest, roots and life – the video game generation’s longing for nature.

In his new solo performance, circus artist Tuomas Vuorinen processes the feelings of emptiness and meaninglessness he experiences and goes into the forest in search of a solution. Can strengthening the connection with nature remind us of something essential about being human? During the performance, Tuomas builds the forest of his childhood on the stage and invites the audience to join him on a journey, in search of the source of vitality.

Maannos is a contemporary circus piece based on object manipulation and staff juggling. The strong visuality of the work builds up gradually by interweaving video art, movement and installation-like staging.

A mysterious dream from childhood marks the route on this cyber shamanic journey through the plastic forest.
