Kulttuuritehdas Manilla opens its doors to the people of Turku and culture lovers for the 31st time, from September 10–20, 2025. Dive into the heart of the block and discover new and unique experiences. Come together, linger, and enjoy!
The theme for the 2025 festival is Awakening.
Carefully curated from visual art exhibitions and performances in dance, theatre, and circus, the program features nationally and internationally recognized artists and works. The Manifesti festival also continues the tradition, begun in 2023, of offering a selection of free performances in and around the Manilla complex.
A glimpse into the performance program:
Fertility, by Ethno Contemporary Ballet — an ensemble that relocated from Ukraine to Finland — is a celebration of prayer, ritual, and the origin of life, born from a longing for the nourishing and fertile soil of the homeland.
something like this, a street dance performance created by Sonya Lindfors for Zodiak Youth, transforms the stage into a dance floor where stories, identities, and ways of making art can come together.
The Mews combines the chaos of the world with the imagination of clowns in a unique performance by the award-winning Kallo Collective, known for its physicality and humor.
Annika Tudeer’s lecture-performance Turn Turtle Turn is a story colored by song, fragmented dance, and movement — a longing to belong to both a new and an old family.
MiniManifesti:
New this year: MiniManifesti, a family-friendly program offering performances for babies, toddlers, and school-aged children.
Children’s Saturdays take place on September 13 with an open house at Manilla, and on the final day of the festival, September 20. MiniManifesti includes the baby theatre show Babygonia, the dance piece Pienet ja tärkeät (The Small and the Significant) that explores the world of animals, and the puppet theatre performance ELÄKÖÖN ELÄIMET! (LONG LIVE ANIMALS!) by Tehdas Teatteri. On the open house day, you might also encounter the Park Buzzers or be guided through the visual art exhibition by puppets.
