Zero Gravity Company Passing thoughts

Passing thoughts dives into an entwined horizon of body and mind.

Whilst tightwire artist Netta Reunanen performs a tightwire meditation walk, Reija Tapaninen draws quick, sketch-like croquis pieces. As the contemporary circus performance progresses, the tightwire meditation opens up towards the art pieces and is impressed by them. The space is filled by paper that gets drawn to, pressed and sgrunched by imprints of the interaction between the performers and of their presence in the moment. As the performance progresses, with improvisation, the interaction between the performers deepens and opens up into a space of living in the moment.

Reija Tapaninen’s art pieces are used as the setting. The pieces are a debrief and an analysis in picture form of the bodily diaries of eight finnish circus artists. The audience is invited to stay after the performance to view the art pieces and to discuss with artists about their experience of the performance.

The audience is encouraged to participate in the performance and to leave their mark on it. Before the performance there are supplies for drawing so the audience can document what they see and what they think during the performance. The drawings can be left as part of the setting/exhibition.

The performance is part of Olohuone 306 Urban Art Festival’s programme.
