What if you could see the music? Romantics creates a seamless symbiosis between classical piano music and contemporary ballet. The choreography is created by dance artist Anu Sistonen, whose works are characterized by a strong sense of musicality. Award-winning pianist Samuel Eriksson interprets piano classics from the Romantic era with eloquence.
Romantics is a unique and deeply touching work for a pianist and five dancers. Great mid-19th-century composers—such as Frédéric Chopin and Felix Mendelssohn—composed true treasures of piano music that have endured through the centuries, touching people across generations. The choreography draws inspiration from the emotions evoked by the music—experiences that continue to resonate with audiences today. A multisensory experience of sensitivity and beauty unfolds as contemporary ballet and live music complement one another, breathing in unison.
