Sirkusta silloilla – kohti Välitilaa (Circus on Bridges – Towards the In-Between)
Sirkusta silloilla – kohti Välitilaa brings contemporary circus to the bridges of Savonlinna. Four short, site-specific performances guide the audience into the world of the Välitila video art series – under the bridges, by the water, and into encounters with the characters of the videos.
1. Kivutar ja Kuolema (Daughter of the Underworld, and Death) – Verkkosaari Bridge Friday 4 September at 3 pm
“Under the bridge, above the water, father and daughter dance in silence.” Aerial hoop, slackline, frame drum, and a few mysterious instruments.
Performance location and directions: Verkkosaari Bridge – approach from in front of Spa Hotel Casino, following the pedestrian path towards the bridge. The audience will be directed to the viewing area upon arrival.
Please note! The performance location is not accessible.
2. Tuonelan portilla (At the Gates of the Underworld) – Lötjönen Canal Bridge Friday 4 September at 6 pm

3. Osaako sielusi lentää (Can Your Soul Fly?) Secret Bridge Saturday 5 September at 3 pm
“Did I die or didn’t I? Where does my soul wander, and who carries it?” Aerial silks and live music, perhaps even a bagpipe.
The performance location will only be revealed to registered participants! ‘
4. Tuonelan pidot (Feast in the Underworld) – Torisilta bridge Saturday 5 September at 6 pm
“The feast awaits. Welcome to the Underworld! We have been waiting for you.” Aerial hoop, fabric loop, slackline, and a feast in the Underworld accompanied by all kinds of possible and impossible instruments.
