Follow the white rabbit! In Hälinä-Keiju's Suggestio, contemporary circus, rap music and poetry open the hidden rooms of the human psyche.
Suggestio embodies the chaos, transformation, and growth of feminine energy, drawing the audience deep into Hälinä-Keiju’s subconscious mind. The piece unfolds as an overflowing, associative journey moving restlessly between emotional states. It weaves together tightrope walking, object manipulation, and a soundscape spanning from classical piano to rap-music.
The performance exists in a state of constant becoming: a paradox that constructs itself in one moment only to unravel in the next. It resonates and provokes at the thresholds of shifting realities, tapping into the expansive potential of multidisciplinary art beyond genre boundaries.
Suggestio pushes the boundaries of circus towards performance art and conceptual contemporary art, while remaining rooted in the virtuosity of circus. Milla Kurronen is an artist working in the independent arts field and performs with collectives such as Säilättäret and Omiaruhje.
