TANSSI, MERI! / DANS, HAV! is a Nordic dance production created by the Finnish dance group Myrskyryhmä and the Norwegian company ANNA & CO, designed specifically to bring professional dance art directly into elderly care settings.
The work premiered in Norway in September and will tour Finland in November 2026. The performances are brought directly to older adults in their everyday environments, making it possible to experience dance art even when visiting a theater or other cultural venues is challenging.
The starting point of the production is the sea—a place for longing, memories, and dreams. The sea can be calm or stormy, playful or meditative, and it connects people across time and distances. In the piece, the dancer takes on the role of the sea and acts as the catalyst for interaction: the movement hints, suggests, shows, and encourages participation.
