At least seven contemporary circus companies from Finland are on tour in Europe this summer. Don’t miss the shows by Wise Fools Trio, Circus I Love You, Säilättäret, Arctic Ensemble, the Duo Kate and Pasi, Race Horse Company or Circo Aereo. GERMANY, ITALY, BELGIUM, FRANCE, SLOVAKIA, CZECH, AUSTRIA
During the summer months, Trio Wise Fools tours extensively in Germany, Italy, Belgium, France, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Austria with their triple trapeze show Trashpeze. Wise Fools will also organize a five-day workshop in Sweden at Älvängs focusing on aerial acrobatics and aerial rigging at the beginning of September. SWEDEN
Cross-border performing arts company Säilättäret visits Sweden at the beginning of July with their outdoor show for the whole family. The Legend of the Holy Pear draws inspiration from medieval mystery plays and combines circus with musical theater. Säilättäret will perform the Swedish version of the show in Vadstena during July 1–2 and in Mönsterås on July 4.
SWEDEN
Finnish circus artists are touring in Sweden with the show Utopia by Circus I Love You, co-produced by Sirkus Aikamoinen. Utopia visits five cities and municipalities in Sweden with a tent during August–September. Check the dates and cities on the website.
FRANCE, ST ETIENNE
EDINBURGH FRINGE
Race Horse Company performs their show Rompecabezas at Festival des 7 Collines in St. Etienne, France during July 4–5, 2023. If you visit Edinburgh Fringe Festival, don’t miss the charming homage to the magnificent horses of circus and the silent movie era at the Assembly George Square Studio One. Kalle Lehto performs his solo show Chevalier – Hobbyhorse Circus during 3–27 August.
DENMARK, POLAND, GERMANY
Arctic Ensemble tours in Denmark, Poland and Germany with their outdoor show Kickstart starting at the end of July after an extensive summer tour in Finland. Kickstart will visit the Bornholm International Street Theater Festival, The Passage Festival in Helsingör and the Street Cut Festival in Næstved in Denmark and head for Poland and Hildesheim in Germany, where Arctic Ensemble stages also the shows Adrift and Dish Soap Opera. GERMANY, ITALY, SWITZERLAND
After arriving from Chuncheon International Mime Festival in South Korea Duo Kate and Pasi have started their summer tour to Germany, Italy and Switzerland. You can meet them next at the La notte delle Streghe in San Giovanni in Marignano or at the Lunathica festival in Turin. BERLIN, GERMANY
When in Berlin, don’t miss Circo Aereo’s show at Chamaeleon. In between – a collection of otherworldly imagery, rich music and acrobatics – is performed throughout June and July.
