Finnish contemporary dance and circus continue to capture international audiences as a wide array of productions head abroad for the winter 2026–2027 season. Bringing contemporary dance, magic, and acrobatics to venues and festivals across fourteen countries, the touring calendar features dates spanning the UK, Central Europe, the Baltics, and beyond.
Fresh off its premiere at Dance House Helsinki on Oct 6, choreographer Elina Pirinen’s Ghosts of Rosegarden will be performed at the Von Krahl Theatre in Tallinn, Estonia under the program of Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava (Oct 16–17), followed by a run at Dansens Hus in Stockholm, Sweden (Oct 30–31).
Tempo, an acclaimed collaboration between Finnish magician and visual artist Kalle Nio and Brazilian choreographer Fernando Melo, continues its extensive international tour across Europe. The production will stop at the International Mime Art Festival in Warsaw, Poland in October and Teatro Viriato in Viseu, Portugal in December. The production keeps up a busy schedule in February 2027, visiting Geneva, Switzerland, Saint-Dizier and Châlons-en-Champagne in France, as well as Madrid, Spain before landing at Dansens Hus in Stockholm for two shows (Feb 18–19).
Kinetic Orchestra, led by choreographer Jarkko Mandelin, is also keeping up an active presence abroad. Their production Bolero will visit the Movement Art International Dance Festival in Luxembourg this October. In February, Kinetic Orchestra will embark on a Swedish tour organized by Dansnät Sverige, presenting both Bolero and another of their dance productions, Like There’s No Tomorrow.
The company Based on Kimberly is touring the UK, Sweden, and Ireland with their experimental, physical, and satirical work Yes Person in October and November. Acrobatic duo Kate & Pasi will be performing in Sweden with three shows of Culinary Chaos in the Jönköping region in December. Mid-winter will see them in Germany, performing as part of the Winter Träume Variete, and in March, they set off for a school tour in Østfold County, Norway.
Choreographer Milla Koistinen will present her works this November at the Tanzfestival Rhein-Main in Offenbach, Germany and the NEXT Festival in Menen, Belgium. Meanwhile, choreographer Sanna Kekäläinen’s ongoing ant-themed performance series—a multi-year collaboration running from 2024 to 2028 between Colectivo Glovo, Teatromosca, Leirena Teatro, and Kekäläinen & Company—continues in Spain. The latest version of Conversaciones con Hormigas will be staged at Teatro Ensalle in Vigo in January.
